Congressman Jim Jordan, the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, recently appeared on an episode of Maria Bartiromo's show to discuss the upcoming hearings on COVID and the weaponization of government. During the interview, Jordan shared his concerns about the origins of COVID-19 and the potential for government corruption and interference in the 2020 presidential election.
On the topic of COVID-19, Jordan highlighted an email from Dr. Christian Anderson to Dr. Fauci on January 31, 2020, which suggested that the virus may have been engineered and not consistent with evolutionary theory. Jordan went on to explain that despite this initial suggestion, Dr. Fauci and other doctors quickly changed their story and dismissed the idea of a lab leak. Jordan believes that this was because Fauci did not want the public to know about gain-of-function research being conducted at the lab.
Jordan also criticized the media for immediately buying into the narrative pushed by the Democrats and the Chinese Communist Party rather than pushing for a full investigation into the origins of the virus. He argued that the public deserves the truth and that it is the government's responsibility to provide it.
The conversation then shifted to the weaponization of government and the role of big tech companies in shaping the narrative. Jordan discussed an upcoming hearing on Twitter files, which will feature journalists Matt Taibbi and Mr. [Michael] Shellenberger. He noted that Elon Musk had made a "crime scene" available where the government was pressuring big tech companies to shape the narrative. Jordan believes that this interference with free speech is a major issue that needs to be addressed.
The discussion then turned to the Hunter Biden laptop scandal and allegations of influence peddling involving China. Jordan states that the FBI has been meddling in elections and that a special counsel should be appointed to investigate Hunter Biden's activities. He also pointed out that the FBI has been targeting traditional Catholics and pro-lifers and using big tech to suppress information and shape the narrative.
When asked what he plans to do about the stonewalling by government agencies, Jordan explained that he would use the appropriations process to limit funding and leverage change. He believes that Congress's real power lies in the power of the purse and that limiting funding for certain activities can effectively bring about change.
Finally, Jordan discussed the situation at the border, where over five million illegal immigrants have been apprehended on Joe Biden's watch. Jordan believes that the Biden administration's decision to open the border has led to a surge in illegal immigration and that legislation needs to be passed to address the issue.
